Ubisoft to bring “The Division” to mobile devices

0

Mobile gaming has come a very long way, thanks to the advancement of mobile chipsets which have gotten more powerful year after year. So much so that developers now have more freedom in terms of the games that they can create, which is why it’s not surprising that we’re seeing more desktop/console titles making their way onto our smartphones.

If you’re looking for a new game to play on your smartphone, then you might be interested to learn that Ubisoft has since announced that they will be bringing The Division onto iOS and Android devices. This won’t be the exact port of the PC/console version of the game, but it will be called The Division Resurgence. According to Ubisoft’s description of the game:

“The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play third-person shooter RPG that features a whole new and independent campaign from Tom Clancy’s The Division 1 and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, offering a new perspective on key story events. It takes place in a contemporary post-crisis America where a virus outbreak has created chaos and the collapse of the government. As an agent of the “Strategic Homeland Division” your mission is to restore peace, to protect civilians against hostile factions, and to help them build a better future.”

The playstyle will be similar-ish to the original series, where it will be a third-person shooter except that it will feature touch controls. There will be both solo and co-op modes and players will also be able to customize their weapons and gear and unlock upgrades as they progress through the game.

The company has plans to launch a closed alpha for those who are interested in seeing what the game has to offer, so if you’re keen, head on over to Ubisoft’s website to register.
