These days, it’s not uncommon to see smartphones come with some degree of water-resistance. This is why it’s not surprising to learn that this is going to be a feature coming to the upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 6.
This is according to a teaser that the company posted onto Twitter where they revealed that the phone would be officially announced on the 5th of July. That being said, ASUS seems to be quite pleased with themselves with its IPX4 rating, going as far as claiming it to be the first gaming phone in the world to feature an IPX4 rating.

For those unfamiliar, an IP-rating is used to define how well a device is protected against ingress from the elements such as dust and debris. A rating of 4 for water-resistance means it is protected against splashes and limited ingress. This is lower than other flagship phones that come with a rating of either 7 or 8, but we suppose it’s better than nothing.
So far, the IPX4 rating is pretty much the only feature that has been confirmed, but according to a TENAA listing, other potential features of the upcoming phone include a pretty sizeable 6,000mAh battery, so that might be something to look forward to. Either way, all the official details will be revealed next week, so check back with us then for the updates.
