The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a huge display for a phone, but it’s intentional as the foldable screen allows it to double up as a tablet. With the larger display, users will be able to use multiple apps side-by-side, but as you can see in the video below, multitasking on the Fold 3 doesn’t seem very intuitive or straightforward.

Thankfully, that might be something Samsung will be addressing in the upcoming Fold 4. According to a tweet by Ice Universe, it seems that Samsung could implement a new gesture command that would make multitasking easier where users can just swipe to create a split screen.

As you can see in the video above, multitasking on the Fold 3 will require users to swipe in from the right of the screen, tap and drag an app out and repeat the process to create a split screen. We can only assume that this rumored new gesture will help make the entire process a lot quicker and simpler.
While Samsung might have been one of the first companies to bring foldables into the market, others like Oppo and Vivo have managed to come up with better and more efficient ways of splitting the screen to run multiple apps at once. It is a shame that it took Samsung longer, but better late than never!
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is largely expected to be launched this coming August where the recent rumors are claiming that it could be offered in a 1TB variant and that the crease of the phone could be less noticeable.
