As viewers begin to notice a fresh upgrade to the feature, Google may be planning to make YouTube Music Recap a much more common offering. The most recent version is reportedly titled “Spring Recap ’22,” and we may see plenty more each season.
Although the function doesn’t appear to be generally available, Reddit user BlaBlaMukul was able to capture their Spring Recap. It showed a banner on the YouTube Music home page. The feature appears to offer statistics for numerous criteria such as favorite bands, top tracks, top genre, and more.
Each statistic will have a download button for saving the snapshot to an Android or iOS device, as well as a share button for sharing it.
While the initial Reddit poster was able to access the banner through the YouTube Music app, and the other user was able to do so by going on the 2021 Recap. You can discover this by going to the upper right corner of the app and tapping on your User account image. The person who first accessed it by using this method also claims that the new metrics vanished for them after a while.
If Google does plan to launch a Spring Recap ’22, it’s probable the company will do so soon, especially as spring is coming to a close. Keep your eyes pealed, and be sure to check back here for news on when it officially drops.
