If you own any of these Xiaomi phones, it might be time to upgrade

One of the problems with Android devices is the update schedule and how long devices are supported for. This is because it ranges from manufacturer to manufacturer, sometimes even model to model, and sometimes along the way, manufacturers might change their minds or launch new update schedules that you won’t be able to benefit from.

That being said, if you happen to own a Xiaomi handset that’s a bit long in the tooth, then you might want to consider upgrading. This is because according to a list published by MySmartPrice, the phones listed below have been marked as having reached the end of support, meaning that they will no longer be updated in terms of both Android updates and security updates.

  • Redmi Note 7
  • Redmi Note 7S
  • Redmi Note 7 Pro
  • Redmi K20
  • Redmi 7
  • Redmi Y3
  • Mi Pad 4 Plus
  • Mi Pad 4
  • Mi Play
  • Mi 9 SE

There are, of course, much older handsets that Xiaomi is no longer supporting, but these are the latest devices to be added to the list, so like we said, if you happen to own any of them and if you think updates are very important to you, then it might be time to look for a new phone that will still be able to receive updates.

These phones will still receive updates should there ever be a very serious security vulnerability, but other than that, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath for new features.
