Leaked Specs Shed More Light on Upcoming Galaxy XCover Phone

0

A while back, we mentioned that a new Samsung Galaxy XCover phone might be in the works, as shown in a leak discovered online. It seems that new information has been uncovered about the upcoming phone, which comes with some mid-range hardware specs.

A report from Sammobile references some new findings from the Google Play Console, which confirms some key specs of the device. According to the listing, the new Samsung phone (pictured above from @OnLeaks X Zoutons.ae) is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC, 6GB of RAM, a display with 2408 x 1080 pixel resolution, with the model number SM-G736U. It’s also expected that the device will launch with Android 12 and Samsung’s latest One UI 4.1 software.

Oddly enough, while the Google listing refers to the phone as the “Galaxy XCover Pro 2,” a post from MySmartPrice lists the phone as the “Galaxy XCover6 Pro.”

Rugged phones are a bit uncommon in the general smartphone market, as manufacturers focus instead on standard smartphone designs. On the other hand, brands like Nokia and Motorola also sell rugged smartphones like the Motorola Defy and Nokia XR20, which come with midrange specifications, in addition to rugged designs.

So far, there’s still no predicted release date for the upcoming XCover device, so fans and interested buyers will have to wait for a formal announcement from Samsung.
