Back in October of last year, ASUS announced that they would be kicking off its Android 12 update rollout starting in December 2021. The first devices mentioned were the ZenFone 8 series and the ZenFone 7 series, with the latter expected to receive its update in the first half of 2022.
The good news is that it appears that things have been progressing rather nicely because in a post on the ZenTalk forums, ASUS has announced that the Android 12 update is now making its way to both the ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro, both of which were originally launched in 2020, so it’s good to see ASUS maintaining some of its older devices. According to ASUS:
“Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. Thanks for your patience. You may tap “System updates” in [Settings] >[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Or, you can also try to manually update firmware by referring to the following link.”
If you don’t see the update available for your handset yet, as the company notes, it will be rolled out in batches so if you don’t get any notification for an update, it is because it isn’t your batch’s turn just yet. We’re not sure how long it will take for ASUS to complete the rollout, but just remain patient and it should eventually make its way to you.
