In addition to its flagship Xperia 1 IV and mid-range Xperia 10 IV, Sony has announced a new affordable Xperia handset, named the Xperia Ace III. The phone comes with some decent specs, although as with previous Xperia Ace phones, it will most likely be exclusive to Japan.
The phone is a rather compact device, featuring a 5.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass Victus, a 4500 mAh battery, and will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 chipset. The chip is paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, and will support 5G connectivity.
The Xperia Ace III comes wrapped in a polycarbonate build with IP68 certification, with a matte-textured surface on the back of the device. The power button on the side also features a built-in fingerprint sensor. Being a Sony device, the phone maintains a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As far as cameras go, Sony has decided to keep it very basic with a 5-megapixel front facing camera, and a 13-megapixel main camera on the rear. As for other features, the phone will support NFC, and will be available in black, blue, brick orange, and grey.
There’s no word yet from Sony if the phone will be released globally, although if you are interested in importing one, you’ll have to wait until mid-June 2022, when the device becomes officially available in Japan.
