Sony Officially Announces Xperia 10 IV

Sony has finally taken the wraps off its newest mid-range handset, the Xperia 10 IV. The device was announced alongside the company’s flagship Xperia I IV phone, during its event held on May 11.

The Xperia 10 IV is equipped with a 6-inch OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, although it only comes with a 60Hz refresh rate. The display is covered with a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus, which is surrounded by a polycarbonate chassis with an IP68 rating. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is an expected feature on Xperia handsets.

Inside the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 5G chip, a 5,000 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Additionally, the phone comes with 5G connectivity.

As for the cameras, the phone comes with a triple-lens set-up on the rear panel, which includes a 12MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP 2x telephoto camera. The front of the device houses an 8MP selfie camera. Sony says that it’s optimized for OIS, better lowlight performance, auto mode, and better selfies. However, it will not be able to record 4K videos due to chipset limitations.

The phone is expected to be available in June for around €499, and will come in four different color variants, which include black, white, mint, and lavender. Sony also announced that protective cases for the 10 IV will be available depending on region.
