Huawei’s Upcoming Wearable to be Announced Soon

0

A new teaser video posted on Huawei’s Official Weibo page has confirmed that a new wearable device will be showcased soon in an upcoming event. Revealed as the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro, the upcoming smartwatch will be formally announced during an event scheduled for April 28.

The video itself doesn’t reveal too much details about the upcoming smartwatch, other than minimalist graphics showing the maximum depths that the watch will be able to withstand. However, online reports predict that the watch will most likely feature EN13319 diving resistance certification, which means that it will be safe to wear to a depth of up to 30 meters underwater. The device is expected to come with an IP68 rating and 5ATM water resistance as well.

In addition to its mainline wearable devices, Huawei also sells “GT” and “GT Pro” versions of its smartwatches, which are usually launched at a later date after its flagship devices. However, unlike most Android-compatible wearables that run on Wear OS, Huawei’s devices are powered by the company’s custom Harmony OS platform.

With all that said, there’s no word on pricing and regional availability, so we’ll have to wait and see when Huawei officially launches the GT 3 Pro on April 28.
