Samsung is very, very optimistic about the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4

Samsung is largely expected to announce their new foldables later this year – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4. While Samsung’s foldables got off to a bit of a shaky start, over the years it seems that their devices have grown in popularity, with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 taking the crown in 2021.

So much so that Samsung seems to be supremely confident and optimistic about the sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 this year. This is according to a tweet by DSCC CEO and analyst Ross Young, who claimed in a tweet that production for the upcoming foldables are double that of its 2021 predecessors.

This seems to suggest that Samsung is very optimistic about how many units they plan to sell. Young also has some potentially good news where he claims that we could see a price cut to the phones. If there is one main factor holding many back from the foldables it would be the price.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not a cheap phone by any means, but to be fair, it is a smartphone/tablet hybrid, so it’s almost as if you’re paying for two devices in one. Lowering the price could encourage adoption, which presumably is what the company is hoping for if they are indeed doubling the production of the phones.

There is no word on when the phones will be announced, but if last year’s dates are any indication, we’re probably looking at some time around August.
