A while back, we reported that OnePlus might soon launch a new handset bearing the “Ace” device name. Recent developments have confirmed the existence of this smartphone, and it seems that the company is preparing to release it very soon, with a launch expected in China.

An official post by OnePlus on Chinese website Weibo confirms that the device will soon be released in the Chinese market on April 21. Several photos of the device were likewise included in the announcement, which show off the smartphone’s rather unique hardware styling.

The phone’s specs include MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 SoC, 12GB of RAM, a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 512GB of internal storage. Other specs include a triple camera set-up, a 4,500 mAh battery, and support for 150w fast-charging. The device is one of many speculated OnePlus handsets that have been making their rounds on the internet for the past few weeks.

In addition, OnePlus’ Indian social media account has announced an event for April 28, although no details were specified, unlike the OnePlus Ace post. Based on the design of the photo in the post however, many are thinking that it could include yet another new handset, as well as a pair of earbuds (which may or may not be the rumored OnePlus Nord earbuds).

These announcements follow the global release of the OnePlus 10 Pro, which was launched back in January in China. unlike last year’s OnePlus 9 series however, the company decided to stick with the Pro model for a global release, meaning that no base variant of the OnePlus 10 Pro is available for sale.

So far, there’s been no official word on whether or not the OnePlus Ace will make its way to international markets, or if the company will release the handset under a different device name.
