One of the problems with WhatsApp is that starting a chat with an unsaved contact is tricky. There are ways to work around this, but it’s not immediately obvious. Thankfully, that could be fixed in a future version of the app.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android will make it easier for users to start chats with unsaved contacts. As you can see in the screenshot below, the left shows the current version of the app where if you tap on an unsaved number, you can either call it or save it to your contacts.
The latest beta, shown in the right, gives users another option of chatting with the user. This is useful because sometimes if you need to chat with someone over WhatsApp but don’t want to save their number, this could be a quick and easy way of doing so. Given that WhatsApp is a popular option in many countries in Asia for businesses, this new feature should make the entire process a bit tidier.
That being said, keep in mind that this is only in the beta so it won’t be available for users who aren’t taking part. Plus, there’s always a chance that WhatsApp could not go ahead with this feature for the next update, but it’s something that WhatsApp users might want to take note of for the future.
