Motorola has been on a roll lately – the company has recently seen success in the US smartphone market, and it’s been releasing a lot of good-value phones in the past couple of years. More recently, leaks showcasing the specs of the rumored Motorola G52 have been making their rounds on the internet, which is interesting considering that the Moto G51 debuted not that far back in November of 2021.
A post by noted tech informant Evan Blass on 91 Mobiles points to the Moto G52, which will supposedly come with mid-range specifications. According to him, the Moto G52 will come with a 6.55 P-OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 90HZ refresh rate, and will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset. Other specs include a configuration of 4/6 GB of RAM, and 128/256GB of internal storage. The device will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, which is mostly the norm for most mid-range phones these days.
As for cameras, the Moto G52 will have a triple-camera set-up at the back, with a 50-megapixel main sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera will have a resolution of 16-megapixels. It’s also predicted to come with an IP52-rating, as well as a dual-speaker set-up. The leaked photos also show three different color variants for the device. As of now, there’s still no specific launch date given for the device.
Motorola’s current flagship devices include the Moto Edge phones, while its mid-range and budget handsets fall under the “G” and “E” series, respectively. The company also sells the Moto Razr 5G, a revamp of its popular flip-phone back in the 2000s, and the Motorola Defy, a rugged-styled smartphone. Motorola has recently managed to climb into the top-three bracket of best-selling smartphone brands, following closely behind Apple and Samsung, a feat many attribute to the lack of mid-range smartphone competition in the United States.
