Xiaomi Officially Announces Redmi 10C

0

Xiaomi has finally announced its newest addition to its budget device line-up, the Redmi 10C. As per recent budget phone tradition, the Redmi 10C will come with a 6.71-inch display with a teardrop notch, covered by a layer of Gorilla Glass. The screen however isn’t very impressive, as it only comes with a rather low 1650 x 720 resolution. The Redmi 10C also comes with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, with support for video recording of up to 1080p resolution at 30fps. Above the display sits a 5-megapixel front camera.

Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Adreno 610 GPU. Qualcomm’s 600-series chips are often used on low-end and mid-range handsets, and it seems that Xiaomi is going with its tried-and-tested formula for its newest budget device. The phone also comes with 64 and 128GB storage options, with support for microSD cards with up to 1TB storage capacity.

In terms of battery, the Redmi 10C will come with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging via USB-C. The Redmi 10C will also ship with a 10W charger in the box, which is a nice addition to have these days, given the number of phone brands who’ve decided to stop including chargers with their devices. Other features include NFC functionality (which varies by region), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Redmi 10C will also ship with MIUI 13 on top of Android 11, although there’s no official word from Xiaomi if the phone will eventually receive an update to the latest Android 12 OS version.

Additionally, the Redmi 10C will also come in three color variants, which include “Graphite Gray,” “Mint Green,” and “Ocean Blue.”

While Xiaomi also makes high-powered flagships like the recently-launched Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro, the company has gained popularity in several markets due to its affordable handsets, which feature decent specs for not much cash.
