Love or hate Apple, you really have to give the company credit for its MagSafe charging system. It was designed to be Apple’s answer to wireless charging, but at the same time opening all kinds of doors for various accessories and maybe even potential features in the future.

We honestly thought Samsung would have created something similar given their fierce rivalry with Apple, but it turns out that it’s ZTE who has the answer to MagSafe. The company has recently debuted their latest smartphone in the form of the Nubia Z40 Pro which comes with some incredible specs and its own magnetic charging system.

Under the hood, the ZTE Nubia Z40 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, beating out the competition who have typically used 120Hz. It also comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and is accompanied by a 64MP Sony IMX787 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP periscope telephoto lens to round things off.

The phone also comes with a 5,000W battery that feature 80W fast charging over a wired connection, or alternatively users can opt to use ZTE’s own magnetic charging system which for now can only be found in the “Gravity Edition” model which features a smaller 4,600mAh battery and charges at 15W using the magnetic charger.

The ZTE Nubia Z40 Pro will be priced at around $538 for the regular version, but if you wanted the magnetic charging model, the Gravity Edition will retail for $680.
