Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus Leaked Renders - 3

New report claims Samsung Galaxy S22 could be announced on February 9

Are you excited for the Samsung Galaxy S22? We know we are, and if the rumors are to be believed, the phone could be announced in February, but when in February, you ask? Turns out we won’t have to wait much longer.

According to leakster Ice Universe who posted on Weibo, the launch date for the upcoming flagship phone could take place on the 9th of February, 2022. Keep in mind that this date seems to contradict reports out of South Korea where it claimed that the phone could be announced on the 8th of February, a day earlier.

Given that the timezones in China and Korea aren’t too far apart, we can’t chalk the difference in date up to a timezone issue, so we’re not too sure which would be more accurate. To be fair, the difference is only a day apart so either way, if either claim is accurate, we’re only a few weeks away from getting all the official details.

The Galaxy S22 series is a phone that many are anticipating, not so much because it will ship with a new design and new features, but because it is more than likely that the phone will be powered by Samsung’s recently-announced Exynos 2200 chipset, a chipset that will feature the use of AMD’s RDNA graphics that will support features like ray tracing.

Of course, the rest of the phone’s features should also be something to anticipate, but it will be interesting to see how the Exynos 2200 compares to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in real world tests.
