Razer and Fossil partner on a limited edition Fossil Gen 6, but you probably can’t get one

It’s not often that we see special-edition smartwatches released with limited availability. But that’s exactly what we’re getting thanks to a new (and surprising) partnership between Razer and Fossil.

In addition to finally launching the Skagen Falster Gen 6, Razer and Fossil have announced a new “Razer X Fossil Gen 6” smartwatch. This wearable offers all of the same specs and features as the standard Fossil Gen 6, with an RGB and gamer twist.

  • Display: 1.28-inch touchscreen (326ppi)
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 8GB
  • Battery Life: 24+ hours
  • Water Resistance: 3ATM (swimproof)
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Altimeter, PPG Heart Rate, SpO2, Off-body IR, Ambient Light
  • Software: Wear OS by Google
  • Extras: Interchangeable straps and bracelets, USB fast charging with magnetic puck, GPS, NFC SE
  • Price: $329

Fossil and Razer have collaborated to create three custom and unique watch faces for you to switch between, including Analog, Text, and Chroma. There are also two interchangeable straps, with Razer’s iconic green colorway being one of the options.

Some of the best features of the Gen 6 include a built-in SpO2 sensor and an upgraded heart rate monitor to continuously keep track of your fitness metrics. There’s even a new Cardio Fitness Level feature that will show “an estimation of VO2 max using resting heart rate and user biometrics”.

Battery life should be pretty solid, as Fossil has introduced several new battery-saving modes to get you through the day. There’s even an option that turns off all of the “smart” functions while still allowing you to see what time it is without taking your phone out.

This new smartwatch is also powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ which is more powerful and more efficient than its predecessor. While the smartwatch will ship with Wear OS 2, Fossil has confirmed it will be eligible for the Wear OS 3 update whenever that arrives.

Now for the catch.

Fossil and Razer are only making 1,337 units available. This is going to be a hot commodity for gamers around the globe, and you’ll want to act fast if you want to own a piece of history. The smartwatch is priced at $329 and goes on sale later this month and will be available through both Razer’s and Fossil’s website.
