Motorola’s MA1 brings wireless Android Auto to older vehicles

0

Android Auto is a pretty useful solution if you want to connect your phone to your car and have information like navigation, messages, music, and more. The only problem is that for some Android Auto headunits, it requires that users connect their phones to the device through a wired connection.

This can be a bit troublesome because it means you need to plug it in when you get in, unplug it when you get out, and so on. If you prefer a wireless connection, the good news is that you won’t have to purchase a new Android Auto unit because Motorola has unveiled the MA1 wireless car adapter.

As the name suggests, this is an adapter for Android Auto where instead of the cable plugging into your phone, it plugs into the MA1. Users can then connect their phones to the MA1 wirelessly, and from there they will be able to transmit data from their phones to their Android Auto unit wirelessly.

According to Motorola, it will be a pretty fast connection as it utilizes 5GHz WiFi. It is also relatively small and inconspicuous, so you can leave it plugged in and tuck it away if you want to keep your vehicle’s interior tidy. The Motorola MA1 is priced at $89.95 and will be available for purchase on the 28th of January, 2022.
