Anker debuts its new 100W GaN charger at CES 2022, coming in March

Anker has long been known as the go-to brand if you want the best chargers for whatever phones or devices you own. And now the company is back with an impressive GaN charger with the new Anker 736 Nano II 100W charger announced at CES 2022.

According to Anker (via The Verge), this is “the world’s smallest 100W gallium nitride wall charger.” On the back of the charger, you’ll find two USB-C charging ports to go along with a single USB-A port. Anker has also integrated a foldable prong design, making it even more compact than you would expect, which is perfect to throw in your bag with the rest of your most important accessories.

There is a bit of a catch, though, as you’ll only be able to reach the 100W peak charging power provided that one device is plugged in. If you are trying to charge up a few of your accessories or devices, then the power will be evenly distributed, charging everything up as fast as it can be. As for that USB-A port, this makes use of Anker’s PowerIQ 3.0 charging, along with USB Power Delivery 3.0 PPS.

With the Galaxy S22 lineup right around the corner, this means that the Anker 736 will instantly serve as one of the best chargers for Samsung’s 2022 flagship lineup. Now, we just have to hope that Samsung offers faster-charging speeds than the 25W limits that we currently experience.

Gallium Nitride (GaN) chargers are really impressive pieces of technology and are something that we definitely take for granted. The technology allows for more powerful chargers while being able to retain a smaller footprint. The Anker 736 will make its official debut sometime in March and will be priced at $79, while being available in two different color configurations. We’ll be sure to check this out once Anker finally releases it, so keep your eyes peeled for our coverage.
