Realme GT 2 ahead of its January 4 launch

0

Realme is one of those companies that saw a lot of success in 2021, and the hope is for this trend to continue into 2022. What better way to get the year started on the right foot than with a flagship smartphone launch? That’s exactly what Realme is trying to do, as the company confirmed it will be unveiling its GT 2 series on January 4th.

Details about what the phones will offer are scarce, but we do know that at least one of the devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This is the same processor expected to arrive in the Galaxy S22, along with already being available in a couple of handsets.

In addition to offering a “new high-end experience for global users”, the Realme GT 2 series has another unique trick up its sleeve. The phone will be the world’s first to be created using a bio-based polymer design. This has to do with the collaboration with Naoto Fukasawa in an effort to put more of a focus on why sustainable materials should be used in smartphones.

The only other detail that Realme has offered up ahead of the GT 2 Series launch is that the phone will feature an ultra-wide lens on the back, sporting a 150-degree field of view. Previous leaks and rumors point to the phone featuring a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, to go along with up to 1TB of storage, and 65W fast charging speeds.

Don’t be surprised if Realme begins teasing even more about this phone over the coming weeks. With the launch set to take place on January 4, that’s plenty of time for the hype train to build some momentum ahead of the final unveiling and release. One thing we know for sure is that Realme is looking to make another big splash in 2022, and the GT 2 Series could play a big role in doing so.
