The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is going to be a beast of a tablet

0

It’s been well over a year since the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup made its debut, meaning that we’re in line for an upgraded version any day now. It seems that the wait might not be too far away as more information regarding the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup continues to be leaked. Previously, we’ve seen renders show off the three different options, including the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and its notch.

Specs have been hard to come by so far, but thanks to SamMobile, we now have a better idea of what to expect from the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. This massive tablet will sport a 14.6-inch display, complete with dual 12MP selfie cameras hidden away in the notch. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be at the helm, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM. For good measure, Samsung is also offering three different storage configurations going up to 512GB.

  • 14.6-inch WQXGA+ Display
  • Dual 12MP selfie cameras (wide + ultra-wide)
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor
  • 8 / 12 / 16GB RAM
  • 128 / 256 / 512GB Storage
  • 11,200mAh Battery w/ 45W Fast Charging
  • Wi-Fi / LTE / 5G Connectivity
  • Android 12 w/ One UI 4.1

There’s a lot that has been said about Samsung’s inability to offer faster-charging speeds in its most-expensive smartphones. But it seems that will begin to change thanks to the Galaxy Tab S8 series, as this rumor claims Samsung is bringing 45W fast charging to go along with the enormous 11,200mAh battery.

Some of the other features leaked include changes to DeX Mode. According to SamMobile, the Tab S8 Ultra will sport an all-new DeX Portrait Mode which makes it possible (and easier) to use DeX in both landscape and portrait modes on your tablet. And for some strange reason, it seems that Samsung will be including its Health app, complete with a redesigned interface sporting a three-column layout to take advantage of the screen real estate. Finally, Samsung will continue including the S Pen in the box, removing the need to pick one up after the fact, and it will magnetically attach to the back of the tablet.

Unfortunately, this latest batch of leaks doesn’t provide us any indication as to when Samsung will launch its flagship tablet series, nor do we know how much it will be priced at. But as the leaks begin to pile up, it’s easy to expect an announcement within the next month or two.
