US bound Samsung Galaxy S22 might not use the Exynos 2200 chipset
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is shaping up to be a pretty exciting phone, not so much for its design, but rather the high chance that the phone will come with an Exynos chipset that uses AMD’s GPU. This means we can look forward to a phone with pretty impressive graphical capabilities.
Unfortunately, don’t get too excited just yet especially if you live in the US. This is because according to a tweet by Max Weinbach, the Galaxy S22 series is expected to be offered in both Exynos and Qualcomm variants.

Given that Samsung usually launches Qualcomm based phones in the US and uses Exynos for other parts of the world, this means that those in the US won’t be able to look forward to the Exynos chipset with AMD’s GPU. Now, to be fair, this might not necessarily be bad news. After all, Qualcomm’s chipsets have proven themselves year after year of being extremely powerful and capable chipsets.
The Galaxy S22 powered by the Snapdragon 898 should still be a very powerful phone, but we suppose those who are excited at the prospect of an Exynos chipset with AMD graphics technology might be disappointed they won’t be able to take it for a spin.
It remains to be seen how the Exynos 2200 will fare against the Snapdragon 898, so don’t be too disappointed just yet.
