0

Gone are the days where you need to spend hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on a great home security system. Amazon’s Blink is one of those more budget-friendly options that provides many of the same great features as those more expensive systems, at just a fraction of the price. Today, Amazon announced the all-new Blink Video Doorbell, which is priced at just $50.

The Blink Video Doorbell is capable of recording 1080p video, while integrating Amazon Alexa, and the ability to even storage footage on a USB thumb drive. That last part is pretty great, as you won’t have to worry about dealing with swapping out microSD cards all of the time, as you can just plug in a thumb drive and have all of your footage stored. Or, you can opt for Blink’s cloud subscription service, if you would rather not fiddle around with thumb drives.

According to Amazon, the Blink Video Doorbell can continue running for up to two years with just two AA batteries. The doorbell also gives you the option to wire it up directly, allowing you to foego the batteries all together.

Other features of this Video Doorbell include night vision, motion detection, and two-way audio feeds. You can pick up a Blink Sync Module 2 and use it with the Video Doorbell, while also connecting up to nine other Blink cameras. The Sync Module 2 is also what is used to help provide external power to the Video Doorbell, while acting as the hub for the aforementioned USB drives.

You can pre-order the Blink Video Doorbell today for $50, or you can select one of the bundles that Amazon is also offering. The Video Doorbell will be released on October 21.

Amazon didn’t stop there, however, as the company also unveiled the Blink Floodlight Camera and Blink Solar Panel Mount + Camera Package. The with the Floodlight Camera, the lights are capable of producing up to 700 lumens whenever motion is detected. It can be paired with a Blink Outdoor Camera for $140 and will be released in November.

As for the Solar Panel Mount, this is priced at $140 with a single Blink Outdoor Cam and Sync Module 2, or $130 if you don’t need the module. This is the best way to keep your Blink Outdoor Cam powered up all of the time, without having to worry about wires messing things up or getting in the way. Amazon says this Solar Panel Mount will arrive on October 21 and you can pre-order it starting today.
