HONOR Magic3 Series Phone case

The Honor Magic 3 is going to have an enormous camera bump

The day after Samsung unveils its next lineup of foldable phones, Honor will be bringing its Magic 3 series to the market. These are going to be some of the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 888+ chipset, and are shaping up to be rather impressive.

Today, Honor CEO George Zhao spoke at a panel hosted by Reuters, along with Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, to discuss the partnership between the two companies. During the interview, Zhao revealed some information as to the two different colors that will be available. It’s based on the “golden hour”, which is a 15-20 minute time frame before sunrise and after sunset, providing the inspiration for the Blue Hour and Golden Hour colors.

In addition to this panel interview, Honor shared the first official image of the case that will accompany the Magic 3. There’s an enormous camera cutout in the middle, lining up with the teaser provided in Honor’s event invitation. According to previously leaked renders, the Magic 3 could have a total of four rear cameras, although we aren’t sure as to the sensors that will be used.

There’s sure to be a whole lot of focus on the cameras with the Magic 3, even though it’s one of the first Snapdragon 888+ devices. With this chipset, performance of the AI engine is said to be 20% faster than the regular SD888, which will definitely help with image processing.

We’re just a few days away from the official unveiling of the Honor Magic 3 series. But if this phone is made available globally, it could end up being one of the most intriguing devices of the year. If Honor plays its cards right, it could be in the conversation for best phone of the year, battling it out with the OnePlus 9 Pro, Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the rumored Pixel 6 Pro.
