If you woke up this morning and started using your OnePlus 9 or 9 Pro, you might have been surprised with a new software update. OnePlus announced OxygenOS 11.2.8.8 is beginning to roll out to owners of the 9 and 9 Pro starting today. The update includes a build number of 11.2.8.8.LE25AA for the OnePlus 9 and 11.2.8.8.LE15AA for the 9 Pro.

Included in the update is the update to the July Security Patch, which is a bit overdue at this point. Also, OnePlus has added its Bitmoji Always-on Display, which was created to help add a bit of personality to your phone’s lock screen.

Finally, if you were looking for another way to pick up the latest OnePlus devices, have no fear. The OnePlus Store is included in the update and is now pre-installed, allowing you to log in and get quicker access to OnePlus support. Plus, now’s a great time to give the OnePlus Store app a spin, as we near the launch of the Nord 2 and supposedly, the OnePlus Buds Pro. But on the bright side, you can uninstall the OnePlus Store app if you don’t want it.

Changelog

    • Updated Android security patch to 2021.07
    • Fixed known issues and improved stability
  • Ambient Display

In the OnePlus Forums post, the company stated that the update is beginning to roll out, and should be coming to all OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro owners over the coming days.
