When the OnePlus Nord N10 launched late last year with Android 10, there were concerns about the long-term viability of the device. The reason is that OnePlus confirmed that it will only be receiving one major Android update, and it was released with a year-old version already. Well, the day has arrived as one Nord N10 owner has received (via 9to5Google) the Android 11 OTA update on their device.
The update includes build number BE2025_17_210623 and includes all of the new features that OnePlus implemented in OxygenOS 11. To add insult to injury, the update for this particular Nord N10 owner only features the June Android Security patch.
OnePlus has yet to confirm whether the update is officially rolling out to everyone. However, this could be just a case of a staged rollout, as OnePlus tries to make sure there are no major bugs before releasing it for everyone.
At launch, the Nord N10 was slated to get this single major Android update release, along with two years of security patches. However, now that OnePlus is operating as a sub-brand to OPPO, the Nord N10 will receive an additional year of security updates.
On one hand, the security updates should be helpful for the time being, and it’s great to see Android 11 actually arrive for the N10. But it’s a bit disappointing considering that Android 12 is around the corner. At this point, you would be better off just rooting the Nord N10 and throwing a custom ROM on there, as it will likely be updated more frequently.
