On one hand, you can walk into your local T-Mobile and grab the OnePlus 9 or 9 Pro through your carrier, and on the other, you can purchase it unlocked directly from OnePlus or on Amazon. But if you go the carrier route, you might end up finding yourself wanting to unlock the SIM to use it with another carrier. Most of the time this can be done after speaking to customer service, but there is also the option to use a third-party service like Android SIM Unlock.
