FCC listing confirms S Pen support for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

Following Samsung’s decision to bring S Pen support to the Galaxy S21, it was not a stretch to think that this could be applied to future phones as well. In fact, there have been rumors suggesting that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 could indeed support the stylus, and now we have confirmation that it does.

According to a report from MySmartPrice, they have discovered the FCC listing for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and based on the supporting documents, support for the S Pen has been confirmed. It should be noted that based on previous reports, S Pen support simply means that the phone will support input from the S Pen and some of the S Pen’s features and functionality.

If you were hoping that the phone would come with a dedicated slot for the S Pen, then you might be a bit disappointed, at least based on what we’ve heard so far. To date, save for some of Samsung’s tablets, only the Note series has a slot for the S Pen to be stored. Even the Galaxy S21 does not.

This could hinder adoption as it would make it more troublesome to bring it around, but at least the option is there. The FCC listing also confirms that the phone will come with UWB support and MST support for Samsung Pay.
