Over the past few months, we’ve seen some new smartphones designed and released with mobile gamers in mind. This includes the likes of the ASUS ROG Phone 5, along with the Nubia RedMagic 6. Late last month, Nubia announced the RedMagic 6R, but only made it available in China for a limited time. Today, the company announced that the RedMagic 6R will be available in more markets across the globe.
Starting on June 24th, you’ll be able to snag the RedMagic 6R, with pricing to start at just $499 for the 8GB / 128GB version and going up to $599 for the 12GB / 256GB variant. This might just be the cheapest phone to arrive with Qualcomm’s 2021 flagship SoC in the Snapdragon 888.
In our review of the RedMagic 6, we said that this is “the gaming phone for everyone” with its combination of great specs and solid hardware. The software is a bit finicky, but if you don’t really care too much about anything other than gaming, the RedMagic 6 is a great companion.
With the RedMagic 6R, the company muted things a bit, introducing a series of phones that looks more like the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and less like a gaming phone. But under the hood, it’s all the same and the 6R not only looks fantastic, but it should be an absolute beast for gaming and pretty much anything else you want to throw at it.
