OnePlus 9 Review 6

Latest OnePlus 9 update promises improved charging and camera performance

While OnePlus continues to figure out a way to bring the Android 12 beta to its flagship handsets, the company has released another update for OxygenOS 11. With this latest update, your OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro will be updated to version 11.2.6.6 and brings with it some additional camera improvements and more.

The company shared the entire changelog, as it usually does, on the OnePlus Forums. Some of the biggest upgrades included in this update are improvements to reducing noise in images along with aiming to improve white balance and the brightness of pictures taken indoors.

It also seems that OnePlus has taken the community response to subpar battery life to heart, by optimizing power consumption for its latest devices. There’s also another line item stating that the “charging experience” has been improved, although there wasn’t much else shared as to what that exactly means for owners of the devices.

The update is rolling out to owners of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in India now, with those in the EU and North America to begin receiving the update “soon”. This staged rollout makes it easier for OnePlus to pull the update in the event that another major bug is found, instead of rolling the update to everyone at the same time.

Let us know if you’ve already received the update and if there are any noticeable improvements that have been made to your camera or to the battery life. It’s clear that OnePlus is still trying to nail down the camera experience on its latest devices, which is fantastic to see. We just wish that things would have been a bit better when these devices launched.
