On March 23rd, OnePlus is set to unveil its 2021 flagship lineup with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. But the company isn’t stopping there with the announcements, as it’s been confirmed that we’ll be seeing the OnePlus Watch. Rumors have been swirling for years as to whether OnePlus would release any wearables, let alone a smartwatch. But back in January of this year, the OnePlus band was introduced, offering two weeks of battery life and being priced at less than $35.

The “problem” with the OnePlus Band is that it was limited to a release in India, leaving OnePlus fans around the globe in waiting for something else to come. In August of last year, rumblings began to suggest that a OnePlus smartwatch was in development, but there was no indication as to when this would be arriving.
Rumors suggested that the design would feature a rounded face, instead of the more-squared off design found on the OPPO Watch. The reason these two are related is that OPPO is actually the parent company of OnePlus, which is why you may see devices and accessories released with similar designs.
Fast forward to December of last year, right before Christmas, and Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus was in the works and would be launching sometime in 2021. But the OnePlus CEO stopped short of sharing any details regarding this upcoming product.
Today, a Community Member on the OnePlus Forums published a post stating the following:
Now, as the clock is ticking down to the launch of our latest flagship, we’re excited to bring you an exclusive Community announcement… it’s time for something new. This fresh addition to the OnePlus family is healthy, punctual and even takes care of you while you sleep.
This was turned into a contest of sorts, asking the community member to guess what the upcoming product is, but only by giving wrong answers. The forum post has flooded with contents of bad puns, hilarious gifs, and questionable drawings just in an attempt for nine Forum members to win the unannounced product for themselves. It’s only a matter of days until we see what OnePlus is working on, and the excitement levels are just continuing to grow.
