New OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro colors look stunning in official photos

The hype machine continues to barrel towards March 23rd, but it seems that the cat’s out of the bag, at least for the most part. Roland Quandt over at WinFuture has shared quite a few images which are believed to be the official marketing renders for both the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

While OnePlus hasn’t exactly confirmed that the OnePlus 9 Pro would be arriving alongside its smaller counterpart, this is the first time we’re getting a look what both devices will feature from a design standpoint. Starting off with the OnePlus 9, it appears that the device will be available in a couple of different colors. While the exact moniker isn’t known, the images reveal a light blue, matte-black, and a lavender option. The first thought you may have is that these are strikingly similar to the colors we have seen from previous Samsung phones like the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S9.

The OnePlus 9 should have just been released already

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9 Pro is taking a page out of Apple’s book with the iPhone 11 Pro. There will also be three colors to choose from with silver, dark green, and black options. When seeing that green color, the first thing that came to mind was the Midnight Green color that was available for the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max from 2019.

The overall design of both of these phones does not seem to be all that different, with camera hole-punch cutouts in the top left corner. The frame features the alert slider and power button on the right side, with the volume rocker being placed all along on the left side.

There’s a promotional image that Quandt shared, which gives a close-up look on the new OnePlus 9 Pro’s camera array, prominently featuring the Hasselblad branding that was announced earlier in the week. There are two larger camera sensors, which are the Sony IMX766 and IMX789, along with two more sensors placed below the aforementioned branding. Quandt suggests that the 9 Pro will also feature some type of laser autofocus based on the renders. Meanwhile, we aren’t exactly sure what the other two camera sensors will be capable of, as the specs for these have not leaked just yet.

OnePlus has seemingly gotten its premium design down to a science, but a big change could be coming to the standard OnePlus 9. It seems that while the 6.5-inch display of the base model is completely flat, the company could be switching to a plastic frame to wrap around the phone instead of the aluminum one that we’ve seen previously. If this is true, it could be one indication of a lower price point for the base model, while leaving the OnePlus 9 Pro as the company’s premium flagship model. This does not come as a surprise, especially after seeing the success of the Galaxy S20 FE’s success last year with its plastic build and lower price point.

We have less than two weeks until the official reveal of OnePlus’ 2021 flagship lineup, but it wouldn’t surprise us to see even more leaks and “confirmations” ahead of the announcement. Let us know what you think about the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro and if you’ll be looking to grab one for yourself.
