OnePlus 9 Pro could come with even faster wireless charging than before

Wireless charging usually gets a bad rep for being slower than wired charging, but things are changing these days and we’re seeing wireless charging become faster than ever. In fact, if you are looking forward to the OnePlus 9, it seems that faster wireless charging could be one of the phone’s features.

This is according to a post by leakster Max J. on Voice who claims that with the OnePlus 9 Pro, the handset will support 45W wireless charging. To give you some context, the OnePlus 8 Pro supports wired and wireless charging speeds of up to 30W, so the OnePlus 9 Pro seems to be one-upping it.

This represents a 50% increase in wireless charging speed, but it will still be slower compared to wired charging where it is expected to continue using the same 65W charging speed that the OnePlus 8T came with, but that’s not a bad thing since 65W is already pretty damn fast.

There is still no date on when the OnePlus 9 will be launched, but given the company’s past release schedule, we expect that it should be announced in the next few months. In addition to its rumored 45W wireless charging, the handset is also expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, but other than that, not much else is known about the phone.
