After being teased in August alongside the launch of the Note 20 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has officially been unveiled! The successor to last year’s foldable-display smartphone comes with quite a few enhancements, but the phone’s $2,000 price tag may be a bot too steep for those interested in getting into the foldable game.

The most notable change from last year is the larger 6.2-inch display on the outside of the phone which sports a 2260×816 resolution panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. This change is significant since it allows users of the Z Fold 2 to interact easier with the phone without needing to open it up and sue the larger display on the inside.

That being said, the inside display has been upgraded as well with a 7.6 inches, 22.5:18 aspect ratio, 2208×1768 resolution, Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display panel (that’s a mouth full) which loses the massive camera cutout on last year’s model and replaces is wit ha single hole-punch selfie camera.

Other specifications include Qualcomm’;s new Snapdragon 865+ Soc, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, three 12MP camera on the back with a standard, ultrawide and 2x telephoto lenses, 10MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 4500mAh battery, 25W fast charging, 4.5W wireless charging and Samsung’s Power Share technology for wirelessly charging your other devices from the phone.

While the phone’s hinge looks the same as last year’s Samsung has redeisnged it on the inside to be thinner, reducing the gap between the panels of the phone. Those who buy the Z Fold 2 will ahve the option to customize the color of the hinge at no extra cost if they order the phone directly from Samsung.

If the foldable display and the phone’s $1,999 weren’t already enough to make the Z Fold 2 a true luxury item, Samsung is also teaming up with Thom Browne to deliver a $3,299 variant of the phone which is bundled with a special edition box, Thom Browne carrying bag, Galaxy Buds Live, and the new Galaxy Watch 3.
