Samsung just confirmed that they’re working on a more affordable foldable phone

0

Last week, we reported that Samsung could have a more affordable foldable smartphone in the works. This was based on a sighting at the WiFi Alliance’s website where the model number was spotted. Now it looks like the speculation is gaining traction because Samsung has pretty much confirmed it themselves.

According to a listing on Samsung’s website, the company makes mention of a device with the model number SM-F415F/DS. There is no name for the device at the moment nor has Samsung made any kind of announcement, but this listing is pretty much as official as it gets for now.

As to how do we know it is a foldable device, and that it is affordable? Samsung’s foldable phones have model numbers starting with the letter “F”. Also, the numbers also suggests that this is a lower-end device, where the company’s top-of-the-line handset, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has the model number SM-F916.

Based on this logic, it would be safe to assume that SM-F415F/DS would indicate a lower-end device that is part of Samsung’s foldable lineup. Unfortunately though, this listing was made on Samsung India’s website, suggesting that it could be exclusive to the Indian market. Either way, we’ll have to wait for an announcement if we want more information, so check back with us soon for more updates.
