OnePlus has an even cheaper smartphone coming later this year

One of OnePlus’ claims to fame was that when they first started out, they made smartphones that were pretty cheap compared to the competition. They were pretty value for money, but over the years, this changed where the company’s smartphones started to get more expensive, but now it looks like the company wants to go back to the good old days.

According to a report from Android Central, it appears that OnePlus might be working on an even cheaper smartphone codenamed “Clover” that could be priced around the $200 mark. It will be an entry-level handset so don’t get too excited, but it could be great news for those who want a OnePlus phone but don’t want to pay too much for it.

Some of the rumored specs include the use of the Snapdragon 460 chipset, 4GB of RAM, a 720p HD display, and a massive 6,000mAh battery. It will also be launching in the US which is great news since these entry-level devices seem to typically be aimed at emerging markets like India or China.

OnePlus had previously launched the OnePlus Nord, a mid-range device that we loved in our review. While it isn’t exactly “cheap”, it is cheaper than most of the flagships out there, so we have to wonder how well the rumored $200 OnePlus Clover could do.
