OnePlus has largely been known for their smartphones, although the company has expanded into creating some audio-based products like earphones. But it looks like the company could now be looking to enter the wearables category with a smartwatch that would be known as the OnePlus Watch.
This is according to a sighting on the website of Indonesia’s IMDA regulatory body, where a device made by OnePlus was listed as a “wearable watch” under the name “OnePlus Watch”. This has left little to the imagination, although the listing does stop short of actually mentioning what kind of hardware we might be able to expect from it.
It has, however, been speculated that it will most likely be powered by Google’s Wear OS platform and will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset, but this is just speculation for now. OnePlus had actually previously attempted to make a wearable dating back to 2016.
The company confirmed as much but later announced that they would be scrapping that plan as they wanted to focus on their core offerings, which were smartphones. OnePlush has yet to officially confirm the existence of this new wearable, but hopefully the listing suggests that an announcement might not be too far off.
