While other handset makers like Samsung and Huawei set out to create smartphone/tablet hybrids using foldable displays, Motorola decided to do something different by reinventing the flip phone. This resulted in the Motorola Razr that launched back in 2019 with a foldable display on the inside.
Now, we have been hearing rumors that there could be a new Razr in the works and the good news is that it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer for it. Motorola has recently sent out a teaser for the 9th of September in which the company seems to be hinting that they could be launching a new device, where they claim that they will “flip the smartphone experience once again”, whatever that means.
Based on the caption, it’s safe to assume that this announcement will most likely be for a successor to the 2019 Motorola Razr. Like we said, we’ve heard rumors about a successor and not too long ago, a photo actually leaked that showed us what we might be able to expect, which is actually not much.
The photos reveal that Motorola might trim the lip of the phone to make it less awkward, but for the most part, it still looks the same. We can only assume at this point in time that we’ll be seeing an upgrade in hardware and possibly support for 5G, but that’s pretty much it. Either way, do remember to check back with us next month for all the official details.
