Lenovo is back with its latest Legion gaming smartphone

0

Earlier this year, Lenovo started to tease that they would be launching a new gaming smartphone, and sure enough it looks like the company has delivered as Lenovo has since officially announced their latest smartphone in the form of the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel.

While it might be easy to dismiss gaming smartphones as a marketing gimmick, Lenovo does include several features that seem to be catered towards gamers, especially those who stream. This comes in the form of a unique camera placement where instead of a notch or a hole-punch for the front-facing camera, Lenovo has instead opted to put the front-facing camera on the side that can be flipped upwards.

According to Lenovo, the idea is that by placing the camera in that position, it allows gamers to play games in landscape mode and stream without their fingers or hands blocking the camera had it been positioned in a more traditional placement. There are also other gamer-specific features like a virtual joystick and also dual ultrasonic trigger buttons.

Other specs include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which means support for 5G, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and storage of up to 512GB. The phone will also sport a 6.65-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and dual 2,500mAh batteries which essentially gives gamers up to 5,000mAh of battery life.

Unfortunately, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel seems to only be available in the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions where it is priced at CNY3499 (~$500), and there is no word on whether or not it will find its way stateside.
