Gaming smartphones tout themselves as being “better” for gaming due to certain software optimizations and hardware features, but it seems that Samsung could be putting all those phones to shame with their upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone, at least if the rumors are to be believed.
According to a report from WinFuture.de, it seems that one of the features of the Note 20 Ultra is the ability to play games from Microsoft’s Project xCloud service using the Xbox Game Pass. if this is true, it could very well make Samsung the first Android smartphone to be able to do so.
For those unfamiliar, the Xbox Game Pass is a monthly subscription that will grant subscribers access to a library of games, kind of like the Netflix of gaming. It is only available on PC and console, but the report suggests that the Note 20 Ultra could be the first Android smartphone to access it.
In a way, it shouldn’t really matter which phone you’re using since cloud gaming like Project xCloud does most of the heavy lifting remotely. This means that all you need is a stable internet connection and a compatible device and you’re good to go, and you won’t have to worry about things like RAM, processor speed, and so on.
There is some evidence to suggest that this report could be true, where a teaser tweet from Samsung last week hinted that the Note 20 smartphone would have the “power to play from anywhere”.
The power to play from anywhere. Unpacked on August 5, 2020.

We’re not sure if this feature will be exclusive to the Note 20 Ultra or if the entire lineup will get it, but check back with us next month during the Galaxy Unpacked event for the details.
