Shure AONIC 50

Shure launches AONIC Bluetooth ANC headphones and true wireless earphones

Shure is very well known in the music industry, especially on the professional front. But the company is making a big splash in the consumer world with the new AONIC line of wireless headphones.

Announced at CES earlier this year, the AONIC 50 active noise cancelling over-ear headphones and AONIC 215 true wireless earbuds are both launching today. The AONIC 50 feature Bluetooth 5.0, customizable ANC, an environmental passthrough mode, 20 hours of battery life, support for a huge range of codecs (not only is aptX HD present, but you also get aptX Low Latency and even the elusive Sony LDAC!), 20 hours of battery life, and USB-C charging.

The AONIC 215 are even more interesting, as they’re essentially true wireless adapters with Shure IEMs fitted to them. They feature 8 hours of battery life with 24 more in the case, an environmental passthrough mode, an ear loop for a secure fit, controls below the ear so you don’t disturb the fit of the earbud, and best of all, modularity. You can always upgrade the earbuds themselves for other products. You can even buy the True Wireless Secure Fit Adapters separately!

We got to test the AONIC 50 at CES and we came away extremely impressed. The company seems to be going all in on audio quality and fit and finish. The AONIC 50 are now available in black and brown for $399, the AONIC 215 are available in clear, black, white, and blue for $279, and the separate True Wireless Secure Fit Adapter is available for $229. You can pre-order them on Adorama.
