I’m sure we can all agree that Samsung takes a bit too long to deliver major Android updates to its phones, but the company does have a very good track record of bringing new features to older devices. This time around, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series from 2019 will be blessed with a variety of new camera and sharing features that made their debut on the Samsung Galaxy S20 earlier this month.
The biggest new feature for the older phones will be the inclusion of Samsung’s new Single Take camera mode that captured photos and videos from all of the phone’s rear cameras simultaneously. Rather than just taking one or two photos while your kid is blowing out candles on their cake or of a group of friends posing for a picture, Single Take delivers multiple takes from different perspectives and will even stitch together a GIF that might be worth sharing as well.
Other camera gallery features being ported from the S20 to the S10 and Note 10 series include Night Hyperlapse mode, custom filter presets, Pro Video mode which delivers a variety of manual controls while recording video, a new quick crop feature in the gallery that lets you crop the image with a single tap once you zoom in on it and a new Clear View organizer that will group similar photos for better organization.
Additionally, the Galaxy Note 10 and S10 smartphones will also be getting Quick Share that will allow for easy file sharing to nearby devices and Music Share that will turn multiple phones into a mesh of speakers for music playback.
There’s no exact date for when the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 devices will be receiving these updates, but they are marked for the “March update.” Unlocked devices will likely be getting the update first.
