2018 saw the launch of what could be arguably one of the best value-for-money smartphones. This came in the form of the Pocophone F1. Many had anticipated that the company would release a successor this year. In fact, there were some benchmarks that suggested that the phone was indeed in development, but unfortunately with less than a week to go, it looks like the Pocophone F2 might not surface this year.
The good news is that if you are looking forward to the successor of the Pocophone F1, 2020 could be the year that it will happen. This is according Pocophone head, Alvin Tse, who tweeted that we can expect to hear more about the Poco brand in 2020. Tse later deleted his tweet, but not before it led to speculation that his tweet could mean that the Pocophone F2 could be coming in 2020.
That being said, Tse never explicitly mentioned the F2, but rather he seemed to be talking more about the brand itself. It is entirely possible that maybe we won’t see the Pocophone F2, and that the company could have something else up their sleeves, but at the same time, why wouldn’t they launch a successor?
After all, like we said, the Pocophone F1 was 2018’s most value-for-money smartphone where it packed flagship specs at budget prices. It also did extremely well in a blind smartphone camera test and made it to second place, meaning that its successor (with some tweaks and improvements), should do considerably better.
Either way, we’ll have to wait until 2020 to find out, but fingers-crossed that the company has not given up on the Pocophone F2 yet!
