Leaked photos show the Pixel 4’s square camera bump isn’t pretty

This year, Google did something a little unprecedented by actually sharing the official design of their upcoming Pixel 4 smartphone. Typically companies prefer keeping their product designs and announcements under wraps until the time comes, but perhaps sick of all the leaks, Google wanted to put some of those rumors to rest.

Now thanks to a couple of photos shared by XDA Developers, we might have our first look at what the Pixel 4 could look like in real-life. While Google didn’t share what the front of the phone looks like, the back of the phone seems to be in line Google’s official design, where there is now a square cutout where the cameras will be housed.

One of the main changes Google will be making to the Pixel 4 is in the camera department, where previously Google relied on a single camera setup, but the Pixel 4 is expected to see the company finally embrace the dual camera design. The rumors are claiming that they will be a 12MP + 16MP combo.

As for the front of the phone, we have to say we are a bit disappointed to see such a huge bezel, but there could be a good reason for it. Google has teased that the Pixel 4 smartphone could be introducing a new gesture-based system based on the company’s Project Soli. If that is the case, it would make sense that the phone might require a thicker bezel to house the components.

Needless to say that you should probably take this with a grain of salt for now, but like we said, Google is rumored to announce the phone in October, so we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
