Check out the OnePlus 7 Pro’s popup camera used as a bottle opener

While popup cameras seem to be the solution to a notch-less design, we have questioned its durability and longevity. After all, the more moving parts there are, the higher chance there is of something breaking down or going wrong. This a concern that we highlighted in one of our earlier articles.

We suppose only time will tell how durable these kind of designs are, but it seems that in the meantime, Twitter user Rushil Eric Andrews has uploaded a video which shows how the OnePlus 7 Pro’s front-facing popup camera being used as a bottle opener. This video seems to be in response to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau’s post about how Android Q is expected to find its way to older OnePlus handsets.

It is extremely cringey to watch because you can actually see the camera bending to the point where we imagine it would snap off. However, it seems to be successful in opening that bottle of beer, but whether or not the camera’s popup mechanism is damage is unclear as the video does not show the aftermath.

We imagine that this would definitely not be covered under the company’s warranty program, so as fascinating and painful as it is to watch, we highly, highly do not recommend that you attempt anything similar. In the meantime, reviews of the OnePlus 7 Pro have been largely positive, with many praising its features and its (still) somewhat affordable price tag.
