More than five months after it was unveiled at CES 2019, Lenovo is finally taking pre-orders for its Google-powered Smart Clock. The Lenovo Smart Clock is a smaller version of the Nest Hub, giving you access to the Google Assistant while also displaying alarms, calendar events and other important information on its 4-inch LCD display. The built-in speaker can also be used for music playback and the Smart Clock can act as an access point for your other Chromecast enabled devices around the house.
Since the Leno Smart Clock is intended to be placed on your nightstand in your bedroom, there’s a built-in USB A port which can be used as a pass-through for charging your phone overnight. For those who are concerned about privacy, Lenovo has also included a physical music switch on the back which will disable the internal microphone and it doesn’t feature a camera for video calls like the Lenovo Smart Display.
Lenovo, Walmart, and B&H are now taking pre-orders of the Lenovo Smart Clock and are planning for it to ship out the first week of June. The price is set at $79.99 which is pretty reasonable since the Nest Hub’s $129.99 list price.
