OnePlus 7 image and specs revealed by retailer

OnePlus has been steadily making a name for themselves ever since the company launched its OnePlus One smartphone and its controversial invite-only purchasing system (which they thankfully have since done away with). This is why it is understandable that many are eagerly anticipating the company’s next smartphone, the OnePlus 7.

OnePlus has yet to officially confirm when the phone will be announced, but online retailer Giztop has posted an image and the specs of the upcoming phone, giving us an idea of what we might be able to expect. For the most part, some of its specs could have easily been guessed, such as its use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, a standard hardware feature for the majority of flagship smartphones in 2019.

Assuming that the listed specs are correct, other features of the phone we might not have known include a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that according to Giztop, will offer the “world’s fastest screen unlock”. It will also be accompanied by 8GB or 12GB of RAM, feature a triple rear-camera setup consisting of a 48MP+20MP+5MP combination, and a single 16MP popup camera.

While we can’t speak to the rest of the specs, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the phone might have a popup camera. Renders shared earlier by @OnLeaks and PriceBaba and a real-life leaked photo seem to have confirmed it. This is echoed in the accompanying image on Giztop where it shows the phone sporting a display seemingly without a notch.

Other alleged specs of the phone include up to 256GB of onboard storage, a 4,000mAh battery with 44W Dash charging, and it will come with Oxygen OS 9 which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. Giztop has also priced the phone at $569 which if accurate, is roughly around the same price range as the OnePlus 6T.
