Huawei-P30-leak-1

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will only have 1080p displays

A new leak has shed some light on the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, which to date have seen relatively few leaks. The devices are expected to be announced by Huawei in Paris at the end of March but according to this new information, the displays may not be what everyone is expecting.

Coming from a User Agent Profile, the two devices are referred to as ELE-L29 and VOG-L29, which translate to the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, respectively. While the information contained in the leak doesn’t really offer a great deal about the devices, it does reveal that both the P30 and P30 Pro will have a 1080 x 2340 resolution. It also makes references to Android 9.0 Pie, which is set to be the version the devices ship with. Despite the lower 1080p resolution when compared to a device like the Note 9 for example, it does align with what was seen on the P20 Pro (1080 x 2240) so it seems Huawei has decided to stick to what it knows.

The devices have also seen some leaks from case makers that confirm there will be no less than four cameras in a vertical alignment on the Huawei P30 Pro, as well as a dual LED flash. The regular P30 will have one less rear camera with the flash sitting below the vertical alignment of three lenses. Both devices will have a water drop notch, similar to the Huawei Mate 20 X.

As far as other specifications go, the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will be powered by HiSilicon’s 7nm Kirin 9809 processor, which debuted at IFA last year.

Huawei is expected to showcase a foldable 5G handset later this month at Mobile World Congress 2019, but again we expect to see the P30 series released at its own event at the end of March.
