While Lenovo’s brand-recognition for smartphones may not be all that hyped up here in the US, the company has seen some success abroad. However, the company has not released a new phone in sometime under the Lenovo branding, but that may be about to change.
Chang Cheng, former CEO of ZUK Mobile, which was shut down last year, shared a picture of an unnamed Lenovo device on Weibo. The image does not really show too much other than the Lenovo branding and the fact that it will come with a glossy back and a metal frame.
Cheng currently operates as Product Planning Manager for the Lenovo Group in China, so it’s not all that surprising that he would have his hands on an unannounced device. What makes this so odd is the fact that the image shows nothing more than the bottom half of the device, only showing off the logo.
There is some speculation that this could be the rumored Lenovo ZUK Z3, which would likely be renamed to the Lenovo Z3. However, there’s just not enough information here to really be able to tell.
Let us know what you think about this in the comments below, and if you would like to see Lenovo expand its smartphone business into more regions.
